Lennis L. Howell

Lennis L. Howell, 62, of 828 E. 18th St., died about 6 p.m. Sunday in Jennie Stuart Hospital following a brief illness.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Trigg County with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Roy Jensen, pastor of the local Free Will Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Victor Neunschwander, pastor of the Union Hill church.  The body will remain at Henninger Funeral Home until time for service.  A native of Stewart County, Tenn., Mr. Howell was born Aug. 8, 1906, the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Ross Howell.  He had been an employee of the Pierce and Williams Co. and lived in this community for about 22 years.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Stagner Howell; a son, Donnie Howell, this city; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Monroe, Trigg County; two brothers, John Howell, Trigg County, and Lawrence Howell, Livonia, Mich., and 11 grandchildren.

(Note:  Lennis L. Howell was a grandson of John D. and Nannie Wall Howell; a great grandson of William Carroll and Priscilla Moore Howell; and is believed to have been a gg grandson of William Howell and Mary Atkins Howell; and a ggg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins and his wife Rebecca.)
