Reams C. Shepherd

Dover –Reams C. Shepherd, 83, died Tuesday in Nashville Health Care Center after an extended illness.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Anglin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating.  Burial will be in the Hall Cemetery, Indian Mound.  A retired farmer, Mr. Shepherd was a resident of Indian Mound.  He was born April 18, 1899, in Stewart County, a son of the late Drew and Nannie Givens Shepherd.  His wife, Ida Atkins Shepherd, died in 1973.  Survivors include six sons, James and Hulin Shepherd, both of Indian Mound, Jerry and Jesse Shepherd, both of Clarksville; Reed Shepherd, Paris, Tenn.; and Horace Shepherd, Louisville, Ky.; three daughters, Nannie Lewis, Indian Mound; Marie Rougemont, Dover; and Tina Carney, Clarksville; five brothers, Smith, Archie, Morris, Calvin and Joe Shepherd, all of Indian Mound; 30 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Douglas Shepherd, Daniel Shepherd, Lewis Shepherd, Reed Mann, Kenneth Austin and Neal Byrd.
