Wilbur Joseph Threatt

Dover, TN –Wilbur Joseph Threatt, 66, retired farmer of Route 3, Dover, died early yesterday at his home.  Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wyatt’s Chapel Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Big Rock, TN.  The body is at his home.  Threatt was a lifelong resident of Stewart County.  He was a Methodist.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Christine Mitchell Threatt; two sons, Elmer Threatt, Big Rock; and Ennis Threatt, Dover; two daughters, Mrs. Zelma Gaines, Hopkinsville, KY; and Mrs. Charlene Atkins, Dover; three brothers, M. M. Threatt, Adams, TN; Ermon Threatt, Big Rock; and Willie Threatt, Indian Mound, TN; a sister, Mrs. Georgie Smith, Indian Mound; and 12 grandchildren.

(Note:  Wilbur was a grandson of Matthew James and Martha L. Roper Threatt.  He was a great grandson of Charles and Rachel Atkins Roper and a gg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
