Jewell Francis Ross, 86,
died Friday at her
residence at 1741 Walnut Hills. She was
a housewife and member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ross also was affiliated with the Order
of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Past Nobel Grand Deborah Rebekah. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sykes
Funeral Home with the Revs. Vincent Walkup and John Sessoms, Jr.
officiating. Burial will follow in
Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ross
was born on May 12, 1896 in Stewart County the daughter of the late
Richard
Lewis and Mary “Molly” Bryant Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elton B. Ross. Survivors include two sons, Horace E. Ross,
of Murfreesboro, and William Howard Ross, of Clarksville; one daughter,
Mrs.
Christine Shrader, of Clarksville; one sister, Mrs. Ivie Lewis, of
Sikeston,
MO; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leon Bibb, Evans Crews,
Rodney Bumpus, Leland Gibson, Don Trotter and Vester Powers.

Jewell Francis Lewis Ross was a granddaughter of Mary McGee and
William
Barnette Lewis; a great granddaughter of Elizabeth O. Atkins and Daniel
Lewis;
and a gg granddaughter of Rev. War soldiers Lewis Atkins and Thomas
Lewis.)
