Sarah Ruth Wyatt

May 15, 1903 – Feb 4, 1981

        Sarah Ruth Wyatt, 77, of Dover, died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, Clarksville, after a brief illness.  She was a housekeeper.
        Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Anglin Memorial Chapel with George Sanford and Dwight Hatley officiating.  Burial will be in Wyatt Cemetery.
        She was born May 15, 1903, in Stewart County, daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie Wyatt Atkins.  She was the widow of William Gus Wyatt.
        Survivors are five sons, Dean Wyatt and O'Neill Wyatt, both of Dover; James E. Wyatt of Big Rock; Wilton Wyatt of Clarksville and Thomas Wyatt of Nashville; four daughters, Lucille Smith, Clarksville; Eva Mae Crain, Dover; Sheila Waldrop, Pembroke, KY; and Judy Duryea, Ethel, WA; two sisters, Maggie Wallace, Indian Mound and Mary Warfield, Granite City, IL; 28 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
        She was a member of Wyatt's Chapel United Methodist Church.


(Note:  Sarah Ruth Atkins Wyatt was the great granddaughter of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.  Her husband Gus Wyatt was a grandson of one of the Wyatt twins raised by Charles and Rachel Atkins Roper.)
