1. Joseph Phillips Williams, tobacconist, was native to Davidson Co. (now Cheathatn). He was given at the time of his marriage, an Arkansas delta plantation where 9 of his 10 children were born. When the war was inevitable, he knew he had to get his family closer to home as he was a sick man.

2. He wasn’t too sick, for he sired his 10th child in C’ville at Tip Top, the home he built here.

3. This child, Frankie Cunningham, lies here next to her parents.
