1.  Born near Allensville in Logan Co. KY
2.  Operated largest livery stable in C’ville: horses for hire, saddles, hacks, "drummer” wagons (for the traveling salesman).
        A. There was a ladies’ waiting room, nicely furnished, where they could rest and wait for their husbands..
        B. There was a men’s “Office” where they could rest, chew the fat or contract business. . -
3.  Mr. Gill bought the Thomas Munford Greek revival home on hill across Red River, which had been used directly after the war as the Tennessee Confederate Orphans Home.
4.  He named his place “Orphans Stock Farm”.
        A. On this farm he had 1/2 mll. race track where he. trained race horses.
        B. He also bred and sold fine horses and mules.
