JOHN R. COLLINS

 



Transcribed  from a photocopy of the will of John R. Collins, Montgomery County, Tennessee for the July term of 1825 as  follows:


In the name  of God, amen, I john R. Collins of the County of Montgomery being sick &  weak, but of perfect mind & memory, thanks be to God for the same, calling  into mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for
all  men once to die, do make & ordain this my last will and Testament.  

First I give & recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that give  it, and  my body, I recommend to the Earth to burial in a Christian manner.   And as touching my worldly Estate where with it has pleased God to help me with  in
this life, I give and dispose of same in the following manner.  I give  to my Brother Robert Collins in trust all my money note & account and  property of every discription to be disposed of by him as he shall think proper  to assist in the support of my parents.  First of all I wish all my just  debts paid & I do appoint my Brother Robert Collins my Executor to this my  last Will & Testament. 

 In Witness I herein set my hand & seal this  6th day of May one thousand
eight hundred & twenty five.
