1.Mr. “Row” Peterson, age 94, died in same house he was born in... Apr. 20, 1954, across Red River, now APSU’s experimental farm.
2. He remembered as a child when C’ville was occupied during the war, how Union soldiers just made themselves at home, pulling up to the table to be fed along w ith the family.
3. A short, obese man, he was jovial, full of life and had two girlfriends, both of whom he asked to marry him, but the first one said if he married the second, she would sue him for breach of promise.
4. The first girlfriend he took to Spring Creek Church in a horse and buggy. The second in a Chevrolet coupe which, when he wanted to brake simply hollered, “Whoa”!
5. He was so big, it is said Harvey Hunt Funeral Home had to bury him in a piano box.
6. A civic minded man, he was, among many other things, a director of First Trust Bank (now Bank of America), one of incorporators of the state farm bureau, first pres. of Mont Co.’s farm bureau and represented Mont Co. in the state legislator.
