Sidney Hughes

 <>Sidney Levi Hughes, 71, of Rt. 1, Palmyra, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital Monday after a short illness.  <>

Born in Montgomery County April 29, 1913, Hughes was the son of the late George Francis Sinks Hughes. He was the husband of Lucille Reeves Hughes, who died April 11, 1982.  <>

He was an employee of Mobley Perry Construction Co.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jarman Cemetery, with the Rev. Lloyd Ashby officiat­ing.  <>Visitation will be at Sykes Funeral Home until the hour of service. 

Survivors include two sons, Edgar Earl Hughes, Alaska, Floyd Lee Hughes, Palmyra; a sister, Earlene Laws, Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

<>Pallbearers will be James Perry, Pat Mobley, Kerry Abbott, Steve Wolfe, Phillip Streetman, Robert Early Byard, Christopher Byard, Randall Byard.
