HODGES FAMILY NOTEBOOK

Stella Hodges

           Stella Marie Underwood Hodges, 68, of Route 1 Cunningham, died Monday at her home following an extended illness.  She was a retired Acme Boot Co. employee.
           Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gum Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Ashby officiating, assisted by the Rev. Howard Lee.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be at her home.
            A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Mrs. Hodges was born June 6, 1912, the daughter of the late Dossie and Sally Conatser Underwood.   She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
           Survivors are her husband, Arthur Hodges; two sons, Donald D. Hodges and Edwin E. Hodges, both of Cunningham; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie R. Potts and Mrs.  Brenda L Britt both of Cunningham, and Mrs. Mary F Akin, Cumberland Furnace; a half-brother, James F. Underwood, Clarksville; one sister, Mrs. Jettie Groves, Slayden; two half-sisters, M .Naomi Trotter, Cumberland Furnace, and Mrs. Gorham Lee, Aurora, Ill.; and l7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
           Pallbearers will be Johnny Hodges, Robert Hodges, Reed Hodges, Ricky Hodges, Danny Trotter, Mike Groves, Jimmy Biter and Larry Thomason.
