John Riley Hodges Sr., 89, retired
Clarksville merchant, died Monday in Clarksville Memorial Hospital after
an extended illness. He was a resident of Route 1, Cunningham. Funeral
services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Marion United Methodist
Church by the Rev. Paul Ford. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. The body
is at Nave Clarksville Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Hodges was born Nov. 30, 1883
in Montgomery Co., son of the late Thomas and Rena Hodges. He was a member
of the Marion United Methodist Church. Survivors are three sons,
Arthur, Cunningham: Owen, Nashville, and John R. Hodges Jr., Cumberland
Furnace; three daughters, Mrs. Jackie Gunter, and Mrs. Ernie Biter, Cunningham:
Mrs. J. S. Stone, Holland, Ohio: 18 grandchildren: 34 great-grandchildren,
and five great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body will be taken to the
church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to remain to the hour of service.
