I Drury Mathews do make and publish this as my
last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other
wills

First
I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon
after my death as possible out of any moneys I may die
possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executors.
Secondly
I have now lived to see nine of my children grown and raised and

Mathews, Jas. Mathews, Drury Mathews, Mary Barnes, and Betsy Mathews.
All of whom is near and dear to me alike, and
whatI have gained in property both real and personal I wish themto
share equal in – Thomas Mathews departed this life sometime in April
last, and his heirs will be entitled to his
portion, with the exception of fourteen dollars and twenty five cents
which I advanced to him a short time previous to his death. Eliza
Jones is dead also, leaving only one heir David Jones a grandchild
of mine, and should he die without having any child or children, my
will is that the portion he receives shall revert back to
my other heirs and be equally divided amongst them as
aforesaid. My will and desire is that my executors pay to
my son Jas. Mathews thirty dollars to make him equal with the other
children before a division, he never having received a bed nor
cow and calf from me.
Lastly
I do hereby nominate and appoint
William C. Batson, Wm Mathews, and Drury Mathews my executors.
In
witness whereof I do to this my will set
my hand and seal this 6th day of October 1847.
