Deed from CUTHBERT POWELL to LEVEN POWELL
Indenture made this 2nd day of August 1800, between Cuthbert Powell
of Virginia, and Leven Powell, Jr., of Loudon County,Virginia, for and
in consideration of the sum of one dollar
to him in hand paid, for the following tracts of land, viz, one tract
lying on the waters of Stone's River in Davidson county, beginning on Ebenezer
Brooks' northeast corner, and containing six hundred and forty acres.
Also another tract lying on the waters of Stone's River, and containing
six hundred and forty acres. Also another tract of land lying on
the north side of Holston, known by the name of Third Creek, within four
or five miles of Knoxville, and containing six hundred and forty acres.
which was granted to Francis Oneill, assignee of the heirs of Samuel Belwood.
Also another tract of land containing six hundred and forty acres and lying
on the Sulphur fork of Red River, joining the south boundary of Jacob McCarty
and the north boundary of Humphrey Hogan. Also another tract of land
containing six hundred and forty acres lying on the south side of the Cumberland
River and crossing the East fork of Yellow Creek. Also another tract
containing six hundred and forty acres, and lying on the south side of
the Cumberland River near the West fork of Budd's Creek. One other
tract containing six hundred and forty acres lying on the south side of
the Cumberland River. Another tract of land containing six hundred
and forty acres lying on the south side of the Cumberland River. Also another
tract of land containing six hundred and forty acres, lying on Spring Creek,
a branch of Red River. Also several other tracts of land.
