Warfield, Charles Percy  (1851 - 1935)

HOUSE, 44th General Assembly, 1885-87; representing Montgomery County; SENATE, 51st and 52nd General Assemblies, 1899-1903; representing Montgomery and Robertson Counties; Democrat. Born in Montgomery County, Sep 11, 1851; son of George Hanson and Elizabeth (Johnson) Warfield. Attended “common schools” of Clarksville, Montgomery County. Married Feb 21, 1875 to Mary Rice; no children indicated. Tobacco grower near Clarksville; also engaged in stock raising on extensive scale; specialized in Shropshire sheep and Chester White hogs; supt., Union Tobacco Warehouse; president, Farmers’ Association; operated warehouse under name of Warfield and Ladd, 1911-12. Justice of the peace and member county court. Died at home in Idaho Springs, Montgomery County, Jul 14, 1935; buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville. Cousin of Arthur Hendrick Munford, sometime member TN General Assembly.
