Married at Harriman, Roane County, June 3, 1958, to Gail Sigman, daughter of Frank S. and Ella B. (Irwin) Sigman; two sons (1963) - John Hurst, Jr. and Frank Austin. Has practiced law at Clarksville since receiving law degree. Member Methodist Episcopal Church; American, Tennessee, and Montgomery County bar associations; Kiwanis Club, having served as vice president; member Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity; Order of the Coif.
