Born in 3rd civil district Montgomery County, Feb. 10, 1883; son of Ranklin Ogilsby and Susan Goodwin (Ewin) Anderson. Attended Williams Academy, Ringgold, Montgomery County. Married in Montgomery County, Aug. 20, 1913, to Margaret Doak Shaw, native of Cheatham County and daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Saba (Doak) Shaw; children – Alfred Ewin, Jr., Margaret Josephine, and Susan Ewin. Engaged in farming, Clarksville, Route 3; president Montgomery County Farm Bureau; county chairman control committee in farm program; member state farm control committee; member warehouse and loose floor committee. Member county court for years. Member Methodist Episcopal Church, serving as steward, lay leader, supt. Sunday school, teacher of adult class. Address (1963) Clarksville, R. 3.
