Alex Omie Allen, 69, a farmer, Route 2, Cumberland City, died at 11:35 a, m, Friday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Murphy’s Funeral Home by the Rev. Garner Swift. Burial will be Dunbar Cemetery.

He was born in Montgomery County Oct. 5, 1897, son of the late Charlie and Eudora Boone Allen.

Survivors include four brothers, Tony and Jo Allen, both of Clarksville; Ivy Allen, Marion,
Ill., and Ira Allen, Charlotte, Tenn.;  and a sister, Mrs. Vida Maddox, Memphis.

Pallbearers will be John, "Ray" and Larry Allen, Amos Elrod, Willie Coleman and Philip Trotter.
