Mr. Powers

April 13, 1979

Ambrose D. Powers, 61 of Springfield, Tenn., died Friday at the Veteran’s Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Tarpley’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ray Shadowens will officiate. Burial will be in the Powers Cemetery near Palmyra.

A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Tarpley’s Funeral Home Chapel

      Powers was born in Montgomery County on July 11, 1917 the son of the late Clay W. and Bertha Nesbitt Powers. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic. Lodge. He was a retired Sealtest Co., employee in Michigan.

He is survived by Ann C. Powers, Orlando, Fla.; one son Paul Chandler Powers, Castro Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Pamela Vathiodes and Peggy Powers, both of Orlando Fla; three brothers, Louis W Powers

Barney N. Powers, both of Memphis, and Claude Powers, Clarksville four sisters Mabel Hicks Clarksville Minnie Lee Voight Plainfield N J Geneva Smith Charlevoix Mich., and Catherine Birdwell, Thousand Oaks Calif.; one grandchild

      Pallbearers will be: Barney Powers, Louis Powers, Ellis Hicks, LeMoine Vickers, John Chandler, Wilburn Oldham, Wendell Powers and Louis Chapman Powers.
