Obituary of
Louise Fort
1984

Louise Royster Fort, 81, a former Clarksville resident who lived in Bessemer, Ala., died Feb. 11 at the home of a daughter. Martha Ann Yager, in Fairfield, Ala.

She was born March 15, 1903, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Elisha W. and Alma Barbee Royster. Her husband, Emmet Douglas Fort, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Royster was an officer in the Gold Star Mothers, a former member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Clarksville and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bessemer.

A graveside service was held Monday in Bessemer, with the Rev. William D Crawford officiating.

She is survived by a son, Jon Rooster Fort of Birmingham, Ala.: four daughters, Mrs. Yager, Frances Louise Fitzpatrick of Bessemer, and Mary Alma McDonald and Sandra Clayton of Birmingham: two sisters, Katherine Allen and Martha "Doll" Meacham, of Clarksville; a brother, E.W. Royster of Oak Grove. Ky-and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
