Robert (Deggs) Fort Jr., 58, died Thursday at 7 p.m.. in Clarksville Memorial Hospital following a two-weeks illness.  He was an employee of the Clarksville gas and water, department and resided in the Ringgold Community.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m.. at Tarpley's Chapel by the Rev. John D. Laida and Rev. John P. S. Humphrey. Burial will be in Greenwood.

Mr. Fort was born Jan. 26, 1913 in Montgomery County, son of the late Robert Fort Sr. and Mattie Harris Fort. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his widow, Dorothy Cornell Fort, whom he married Nov. 18, 1939; a son, Robert M. Fort, Clarksville; a brother, R. H. Fort, Clarksville; four sisters. Mrs. G. G. Barbee, Clarksville; Mrs. Frank Hambaugh, Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. G. G. Garber. Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. W. D. Drake, Rigley, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be A. B. Ottinger, Lewis H. Dorris, George B. Barbee, Millard F. Bibb, Laurence T. Payne, Bernard Palmore, Albert Alcock, and Chester Adair.

Honorary pallbearers will he members of the Baracca Class of First Baptist Church.
