He served in the Civil War as a Confederate soldier in the
59th Regt. Tn Mtd. Inf. (Co.E) Head stone has him as a Capt. but service record has him as a Pvt.
Edward was born on Jan. 4, 1827 to John H. & Susie Moore Hankins.
He married Julia Ann Stephens. He was shot and killed at home Dec. 9, 1866 and he is buried in Prospect Cem.
His wife is buried in Evergreen Cem., Osborn, Mo.
