ADDISON SHARP

Addison Sharp is believed by most Sharp researchers to have been a son of Robert and Letitia Sharp.

The deed of 20 Sept 1818 (see Robert Sharp page) does not name Addison as a child of Robert and Letitia.

However, Addison was is some way, closely related to the Robert & Letitia Sharp family.

His death appears in the Alexander Sharp Bible (belonged to Reuben T. Sharp). Since Addison was born in the same generation as Alexander ca 1780's, I speculate that he may have been a first cousin to the children of Robert and Letitia Sharp.

His name appears as witness on several documents for members of the family of Robert and Letitia Sharp.

Addison Sharp was born ca 1780-90 and died 2? May 1832. It appears that he married Rebecca Hitch, 26 Dec 1821, Blount Co, Tn. Married by Billy Holloway, Minister of the Gospel, Baptist church.

Rebecca Sharp, believed to be the widow of Addison Sharp, married James Mitchell, 29 Oct 1833, in Blount Co, TN. Married by William Billue, MG James Mitchel was the son of David and Polly Peak Mitchel.

The family moved to Tarrant Co, TX by 1860 where James Mitchel is later listed as deceased in tax records and deeds. Martha Mitchell Howell Thomas died in 1886 in Parker Co, Tx. and John Thomas moved back east.

5 Dec 1848, Archibald Hitch executed his last will and testament, naming his wife, Mary son Elias Hitch; Margaret Dearmond, Rebecca Mitchel, Sintha Dearmond, sisters Hannah and Mary Johnson and William Kendrich Sharp.
