Green Lee Hendricks (Hendrix) was
another one that fought in the war. He came through
here and later returned to marry a young girl he had
seen.
He would laugh and tell how him and a friend hid in a
thicket to shoot some Yankees. They had horses but no
saddles. His friend wound up with a minnie ball in the
butt and had to go and get it cut out. "That's about
all we ever got out of the war," he would laugh and
say."
