Obituary of Mrs. Thos. Hurley, Jr.
On Friday night, March 10, the death angel visited the home of
Thos. Hurley, Jr., and claimed as its victim his loving
companion. Mrs. Hurley was admired by all who knew her. She
was a devoted member of the Christian church and had lived an
ideal Christian life ever since she professed faith in Christ.
She leaves a father and mother, two brothers, a loving husband
and six little children to mourn her loss. Her remains were
laid to rest in White Oak cemetery Sunday at 2:30 with Rev.
Arch Houston conducting the funeral service. May her friends
and relatives be consoled by the expectation of striking hands
with her in realms where parting is unknown, is the sincere
wishes of a FRIEND.

Fatally Burned:
Mrs. Gran Smith, living about one mile from Gravel Hill, was
engaged with her husband Wednesday in burning some rubbish in
their garden when her clothes caught fire and she was so badly
burned that death ensued within an hour. Her husband was badly
burned in trying to rescue his wife, but he is not dangerously
hurt. A great stir in the neighborhood was caused by the
frightful accident.
