(1836)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">Maury, Tennessee Probate Records p. 392-3<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">I <strong>Lewis S Scribner<\/strong> of the county of Maury and state of Tennessee this\u00a0day the 30th July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred\u00a0and thirty-six proceed in the following manner in the distribution and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">will of my property and money. I do hereby in conformity of my own\u00a0will and _______[blessing?] bequeath unto my beloved wife<strong> Susan<\/strong> all my\u00a0ready money all my household and kitchen furniture with all the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">appertinances belonging thereto during her life time at which time the\u00a0sd [s with superscript underlined d&#8211;said] property to be for the whole\u00a0use of my son<strong> Reddin [or Redden] Scribner.<\/strong> I also bequeath to my son\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">Redden my bay mare and two yearly colts and waggon now in my own\u00a0possessions. I bequeath to my daughter <strong>Susan Shipman<\/strong>&#8216;s two daughters\u00a0_____ [smeared, looks like Ampey, above in another hand is written\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">ANNA] and <strong>Rebecca<\/strong>, one chestnut sorrel [?] mare now in my possessions.\u00a0I bequeath to my sons nine in number <strong>John<\/strong> [might be an initial here,\u00a0can&#8217;t tell], <strong>Lewis, Pleasant, Sam<\/strong> [or Sams, which could be Samson],\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\"><strong>Jesse, Edward, Saloman<\/strong>,<strong> Thomas &amp; Westley.<\/strong> Two hundred and twelve\u00a0dollars to be equally divided among them.
