{"id":478,"date":"2012-07-20T01:46:08","date_gmt":"2012-07-20T06:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/maury2\/?p=478"},"modified":"2019-01-03T16:15:29","modified_gmt":"2019-01-03T22:15:29","slug":"dooley-james-1824","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/maury\/dooley-james-1824\/","title":{"rendered":"DOOLEY, James (1824)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">Maury County Wills &amp; Inventories Book C-1, page 513<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I,<strong> James Dooley,<\/strong> the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> form following: 1st it is my will that my grandson <strong>James Madison Dooley<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">have that tract or parcel of land on which I now live.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> 2nd I give and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">bequeath to my son <strong>Esom<\/strong>, my Negro man <strong>Solesburg<\/strong> also and waggon and gear.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> 3. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife <strong>Rachel Dooley<\/strong> my negro man Sam\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">during her life and at her death it is my wish that he be divided equally\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">between my two sons Esom and Parris. I also give and bequeath to my beloved\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">wife one bed bedstead and desire that my son<strong> Esom<\/strong> have the management of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">all that property left by me for the benefit of my beloved wife. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">4th I\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">also give and bequeath to my son in law <strong>William Wallace<\/strong> my bay horse and cow\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and calf and five hundred pounds of pork. It is further my desire that my\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">grandson <strong>James Harvey Wallace<\/strong> have my sorrel mare bonny. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">5th It is my will <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and desire that my son <strong>Parris<\/strong> have one cow and calf and bead bedstead\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">furniture also one large kettle.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Signed sealed published and declared by the above named <strong>James Dooley<\/strong> to be\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and his\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto this twenty-fifth\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">day of May, 1824.
