Maury County Wills & Inventories Book C-1, page 513<\/span><\/p>\n

I, James Dooley,<\/strong> the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind\u00a0<\/span>and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and<\/span><\/span>
\n form following: 1st it is my will that my grandson James Madison Dooley<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>have that tract or parcel of land on which I now live.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2nd I give and\u00a0<\/span>bequeath to my son Esom<\/strong>, my Negro man Solesburg<\/strong> also and waggon and gear.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rachel Dooley<\/strong> my negro man Sam\u00a0<\/span>during her life and at her death it is my wish that he be divided equally\u00a0<\/span>between my two sons Esom and Parris. I also give and bequeath to my beloved\u00a0<\/span>wife one bed bedstead and desire that my son Esom<\/strong> have the management of\u00a0<\/span>all that property left by me for the benefit of my beloved wife. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4th I\u00a0<\/span>also give and bequeath to my son in law William Wallace<\/strong> my bay horse and cow\u00a0<\/span>and calf and five hundred pounds of pork. It is further my desire that my\u00a0<\/span>grandson James Harvey Wallace<\/strong> have my sorrel mare bonny. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5th It is my will <\/span>and desire that my son Parris<\/strong> have one cow and calf and bead bedstead\u00a0<\/span>furniture also one large kettle.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named James Dooley<\/strong> to be\u00a0<\/span>his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and his\u00a0<\/span>presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto this twenty-fifth\u00a0<\/span>day of May, 1824.
