Mr. Goad was born in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Maury County, Tennessee 30 Nov. 1810. He joined the Knob Creek Baptist\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Church in 1832. In 1850, he moved to Nacogdoches, Texas and united\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">with the Mount Moriah Church. In 1856, he moved to Anderson County\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">and became a member of the Macedonia Church at Tennessee Colony. He is\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">survived by his wife and several children.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\"> ( Son Of Robert Jr. and Polly (Mahon or McMahan) Goad of Maury County.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">From the Lindsay News, Lindsay, Garvin, Oklahoma, August 1, 1913, front\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">&#8220;Goad Funeral Friday<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\"> The remains of R.W. Goad, who died at Alex Wednesday evening, were\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">laid to rest in the Erin Springs cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Friday, a brief\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">fuenral discourse being pronounces at the grave by Rev. H.P. Haley.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The deceased was 70 years of age, a native of Tennessee, and at one\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">time a resident of Texas. He lived in Oklahoma a number of years. GOAD<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\"> M.R. goad, father of Goad Brothers, at this place, died last\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Wednesday evening at eight o&#8217;clock after an illness of many months. Mr.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\"> Goad moved here from Lindsay last fall, and purchased a home just south\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">of town, at which place he resided until his death. His body was taken<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\"> to Erin Springs for burial.
