CONNER<\/strong>, a successful agriculturist of Maury County, Tenn., was born in Davidson County, Tenn., May 28, 1827. He obtained a practical education, and started in life with no capital save his hands and unbounded energy. He has been quite prosperous in his business undertakings, and is now a well-to-do &#8220;tiller of the soil.&#8221; June 4, 1852, he led to the hymeneal altar <strong>Miss Martha Blocker<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Elijah Blocker,<\/strong> of Maury County. Three children blessed their union, these two now living: <strong>India B.<\/strong> (wife of <strong>Thomas S. Whiteside)<\/strong>, and <strong>Addie B.<\/strong> (wife of<strong> E. A. Pogue<\/strong>). Mr. Conner was opposed to the late war, and accordingly refrained from participating in it. He is a stanch supporter of Republican principles, and belongs to the Masonic fraternity. He is a member of the Christian Church, and is a son of <strong>Alfred and Sidney (Kennedy) Conner<\/strong>, who were born in North Carolina. The father was a farmer by occupation, and died in 1843.
