Polk Is Dead<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Nashville, Tenn., Dec. 1 &#8211; General <strong>Lucius E. POLK<\/strong> died at Ashwood, Maury county this morning. \u00a0Gen. POLK was 59 years of age. He served in the confederate army under <strong>Gen. Pat CLEBURNE<\/strong> until the latter was killed at Franklin. He commanded a division in a corps at CHicamauga and served with distinction throughout the war.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">He has since the war engaged in farming in Maury county, he was sent to the state senate in 1888. Gen.
