S. degree, 1901 and L.L.B., 1902;  married Hester McLAIN, June, 1904, member Masons, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Greek letter fraternity; in 1903 admitted to practice in Circuit and Supreme Courts of State and Federal courts of Fourth Judicial District; member Presbyterian Church.

Gaines Chapel Cemetery is so named because of its former relation to Gaines Chapel Church, which has since been moved.
