JASPER JOURNAL OBITUARIES

Mrs. W. H. Perkins

Mrs. W. H. (Bill) Perkins, 74, of Whitwell, Tenn., died in a Chattanooga hospital early Friday morning.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Gravitt, Mrs. Bob Griffith; four sons, J. W., J. K. and Hoyt Perkins all of Whitwell; Lancy Perkins of Kimball, Tenn.; 31 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Red Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Joe V. Colston officiating. arrangements by Hooper Funeral Home.

[note: She was nee Alice Wallace, b. abt. July, 1886 in Dist. 13, Marion Co., TN (possibly at Mt Etna), daughter of William Wallace, who was b. DeKalb Co., AL, and his 2nd wife Patsy Jane Webster, who md. in Marion Co., TN on May 28, 1884.]


Mrs. Mae Roberson

Mrs. Mae Roberson, 79, of Whitwell, Tenn., died Sunday morning in a local hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Mosier and Mrs. Albert Holland, both of Whitwell; two sons, Thomas Roberson, Whitwell, and Woodrow Roberson, Chattanooga; two step-sons, Claude Roberson, Jasper, and Leonard Roberson of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Griffith and Mrs. Willie Bramlett, both of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Nellie Caldwell and Mrs. Lelia Layne, both of Laager, Tenn., 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Whitwell Baptist Church with the Revs. Jasper Kelly, W. T. Morefield and T. L. Phillips officiating. Interment was in Whitwell Memorial Gardens.
