I am researching the LADD family originally from VA>SC>TN. Constantine Ladd m. Elizabeth M. Box in Marion Co. on 11Sept1832. He died 10Oct1848 and is supposed to be buried there. Pleasant E. Ladd m. Malinda Elizabeth ? in Marion Co. est. 1856 in Marion Co. Noble Ladd m. Milly Holly dies May 1855 in Franklin Co. I am researching the Whittenberg family of Bledsoe County. Peter Whittenberg was b.@1780 in TN and had children: John b. 1804-1810; Samuel b.@1808 m. Susannah “Gussie” Goff; Joseph b. @1810 m. Elizabeth d. 1853 Bledsoe Co., TN; Sarah b. 1810-1820? m. William S. Dalton; Isaac b.@1816 m. 24 June 1841 Marilda Walling in Van Buren Co., TN; Jacob b.@1820 m. 20 Feb. 1843 in Pikeville, TN Mahala Walling-marriage dissolved 10 Sept. 1844 by Chancery Ct. and she m2 an Underwood. Peter probably had other children as well. Peter’s wife in 1850 was Elizabeth, but I don’t know if she was the mother of his children. Some of the members of this family also lived in Van Buren, White, Rhea, and Marion counties of TN.

I am trying to locate information on a Family that relocated from Randolph County, NC to Marion County, TN ca 1800. Chambers, Elisha and wife Lydia (Stover). Actually I am looking for information on another Chambers family his brother (Possibly William) that had a son named Jackson. Elisha’s father was Edmond b. England 1739 d. Griffith, John H., b. 1811, prob in Marion Co., TN. Married 1st Henrietta??, b. c. 1813. Their children: Nancy; Susan; Rosa, Ephraim; Ruth and Jesse C. Died between 1860 and 1870. 2nd wife is Susan??, b. 1826 in TN. I beleive that their only child was John T. “Smith” GRIFFITH, b. 1861. His 3rd wife was Mary Ann “Polly” LAYNE BRYANT, b. 1826, prob. in Grundy Co., TN. John H. died after 11-May-1890 as I have copy of a will. Need John H.’s parents and siblings. Need surnames of 1st two wives. Need proof that Smith was the son of John H. and Susan. Will share information with anyone researching the GRIFFITH surname in the Sequatchie Co., TN area. (1847-1909) married Charlotte PICKETT; Mary Ann (1849-1914) married Alexander LAYNE; Sarah (1851-1929) married John HATFIELD and Asher WYCOFF; Wiliam T. (1833-?) married Anna BRYANT; Elizabeth (1856) married James BRYANT; Martha (1860; family lore says that she was killed by Union troops at the family home in the Grundy Co., TN area on their retreat from the Battle of Stones River in 1863) and Anna M (1861-1907) married to John T. “Smith” GRIFFITH. Need lots of information on John BRYANT. It is beleived he may be a Revolutionary War Veteran, but no information has been found. It has been noted by others that he may have been married at least two times. In his latter years he is found in the home of his daughter Annie. Isaac W BRYANT family can be found on the Grundy and Sequatchie County, TN Census. It is thought that Isaac may have been a justice of the peace in Grundy Co. I am looking for the parents’ names of Doctor Franklin Rogers, born in Marion County in 1845. (Doctor is name, not occupation). Civil War records state he was raised an orphan. Death Certificate from Missouri states his mother’s maiden name as “Gracen”. Would like to know his parents’ names as well as what happend to his family.
