R. Murray had moved to St. Cloud as partof a “colony” of Union Army veterans who were getting very elderlyand moved in mass to and basically founded that town which is nowlarge a tourist town near Disney. In 1917, it was a very smallagricultural community which had among its small citizenry over 800former Yankee soldiers. The main occupation in St. Cloud was “constant gab”, telling oldCivil War storie

This is a continuation of Kilt Wearin…The main occupation in St. Cloud was “constant gab”, telling oldCivil War stories and being involved in Patriotic Activities. St.Cloud had the second largest chapter of the “Grand Army of theRepublic” in the entire Nation.William Russell Murray’s Last Will was probated in Marion CountyTenn. and in it he names his above wife, his daugthers Flora AnnaMurray Mason and Nancy Caldonia (Dona) Murray Haskew and bequeaths tothem his property including land in St. Cloud FLA and land in MarionCounty TN.Also very new is a record in a book entitled “Sequacthie ValleySoldiers in the Civil War” in which it is says that W. R. Murray’s”home county” at the time of his enlistment into the Union Army in1863 was Jackson County Alabama. I have to date been unable to findanything to confirm his home or presence there.Barbara Gonce Clepper, author of the book “The Raulstons and theRussells” which has many Marion County TN and Jackson County Ala.connections, stated b

MURRAY, RUSSELL, BIBLE, SPEEGLE, ROULSTONE, BEENE, BEAN

William Russell Murray is quite an interesting fellow.WRM’s Florida death certificate states that his father was GEORGEMURRAY and his mother was MRS. RUSSELL and that both of them wereborn in North Carolina. His death certificate also clearly states that his full name wasWILLIAM RUSSELL MURRAY, he was born March 8, 1842 and that he diedJan. 4, 1923 in St. Cloud Florida where he had resided for approx. 6years.The informant on the certificate was his second wife, CarolineFrancis Murray and he was removed to and buried at South Pittsburg,Marion County, Tenn.It seems very clear that W.
