I am trying to locate ancestors named Standridge. My gggg grand father's name was Alexander Standridge, born about 1776, died around 1835. He married a woman named Elizabeth. My ggg grandfather was Samuel James Standridge born between 1806 and 1810(second son of Alexander and Elizabeth) He married Mahaley Lucinda Brassfield. My gg grandfather was Samuel Standridge (fifth child of Samuel James and Mahaley)born 1843, married Sarah. My great grandfather Martin James was the fifth child of Samuel and Sarah. Martin James was born 1877 or 78. He married Ella Martin. I have found that two brothers James and Samuel were in Maryland around 1767 and their descendents moved to Georgia and Tennessee. I have found an Isacc Newton Standridge on the internet,who is supposed to be a son of Samuel Jr. (There must be more than one Samuel somewhere in the line). Can anyone assist me...please? I am researching the Cooper family. My known ancestor is HARMON COOPER b. 1830 in Marion, Co. He married Melissa r Mahala(Delia) Jackson in the same county in 1849. Unable to locate marriage due to courthouse burning. Harmon died about 1876in South Pittsburg, TN. His widow came to Texas with their son, James , his wife, and several of her younger children. Some of the children already married remained in TN. We have visited Harmon's grave Any information would be appreciated.Thank you. .

Seek parents and siblings of WILLIAM HOLLOWAY and wife MARY A. "POLLY" BRADLEY. William was born in 1802 (where in TN?) and died in Marion Co.,TN in 1892. Mary was born in VA in 1803 and died in Marion Co.,TN in 1887. Both are buried in Teague Cemetery in northern Marion Co. William had one known sister, Obedience who married Green Pryor. Mary was said to have been an orphan. William and Mary Holloway had several children one of whom was ZARAHARIAH "ZANEY" HOLLOWAY (1832-1885) who married THOMAS NELSON TEAGUE (1824-1889). It is said that the home of one of these John Shropshires was the first courthouse of Marion County. John Jackson Shropshire was married twice, Mary Shirley and Lavinia Thornton. John Jackson Shropshire later lived in Hamilton County.

My gg grandfather, Joseph "Joe" Wilkinson was born in Jasper, Marion Co., Tennessee about 1823. Early Land records indicated that four Wilkinson/Wilkerson men recieved land grants during this period in time. The names of those appearing on the grants were Thomas, William, Elias and James. Does anyone have information on any of these men that may help me to locate which one was Joseph's father. Joseph married Dorcas Lewis of Bedford Co., Tennessee in 1852. Their family lived in Jackson Co., Alabama for many years. Any help locating my ggg grandfather would be deeply appreciated.

JOHN BERRY, born abt 1800 in Marion County and died in Madison County MO in 1857. John and his wife had children named: John M., Barton, James, Matilda, William Thomas, Elizabeth Isabella, Nancy, Joseph, Rutha, and Mahala. Most of this family went to MO but they left no trail as to the name of John's wife nor did they leave any information as to where they came from. No records were found in the courthouse for probate or land transfers. John and his family of four at that time show up on the 1830 census. If you have any information I would appreciate it.
