I am searching the HOLLOWAY, COOPER, ABBOTT, SIZEMORE, BURKE,
MCVEY Families. My great-great grandfather was John HOLLOWAY who married
Jamima (Jenny, Mina) COOPER in DeKalb, AL in 1854. Believe Jenny
died about 1875 while living in Marion Co. TN maybe Shellmound area.
The HOLLOWAY family seem to move back and forth between Marion Co.
TN and Jackson Co AL during the 1860 - 1880 time frame. The HOLLOWAY's
moved to Indian Territory (later OK) in the 1890's. My great
grandfather was James B. HOLLOWAY who married Refina ABBOTT in

<p>I just received information that leads me to believe a 4G
grandfather of mine, Ezekiel W. KETCHUM, may have been born in Bledsoe,
or at the very least lived there before moving on to Roane
County.</p>
<p>Ezekiel was born about 1817 and died in Roane County 27 Aug
1857. He married Mary Ann DAVIS in Roane County 13 Jan 1842. Ezekiel was
a son of Joseph KETCHUM, who was in turn the son of Edward KETCHUM of
Virginia/Orange County, North Carolina.</p>

Looking for parents of Frances TUCKER born 1833 in Monteagle area. Marion
and Grundy Counties, TN. She had a brother Archibald and a sister,
Fannie who married James L Bryant. There are several TUCKER children
living with various families in 1850 and an Archibald TUCKER as a
pobssible parent. Presumably the wife died and the children were staying

My grandmother was Betty Ann Greer Settles (1889 -1988),
born in Shellmound, TN (now under Nickajack Lake), and
was married to Rufus Settles of Jasper, TN, who died in 1924 in
Chattanooga. (Rufus may have been adopted.) Grandma Betty's parents
were Alfred Greer (died in 1924), son of Sam & Betty Greer; and
Rachael Burnett Greer (died in 1904), daughter of Dick & Liza
Burnett. It is believed Liza was Cherokee. Sam & Betty Greer were, I
understand, slaves for the McReynolds family of Shellmound, TN.
I would be grateful for any information on any of my ancestors, as well
as, the McReynolds family. I am particularly interested in
info on Rufus Settles and Liza Burnett.
Rachael's sisters were Amy, Nancy, Emma (or Emily), and Lindy. One or
more of whom married Alexanders?
>From what I can determine, Sam & Betty were African-
American. Liza, though Cherokee, was also a slave for the
McReynolds. But Dick Burnett may have been White or Black,
I'm not sure.
Grandma Betty's other siblings were Marcy, Amy, Clemy, Mary,
Fred and Sam.
