ALLEN, GOTCHER

Researching my gg grandfather JAMES ALLEN and my ggg grandfatherREV.HENRY GOTCHER. JAMES ALLEN's was born in Barren Co., KY. ca.1809. A JAMES ALLEN appears on the 1830 Barren Co. KY census, but not the1840. In the 1836 Marion County Tax record, a JAMES ALLEN is listed inDistrict 2, Henry Gotcher in District 9. In May of 1846, James Allenmarried my gggrandmother, ELIZABETH GOTCHER, daughter of REV.HENRYGOTCHER, in Hamilton Co. He was 13 years older than Elizabeth whowould have been 12 years old in 1836. James' two previous wives weredeceased.HENRY GOTCHER was a Baptist minister and early member of Sweeten'sCove church in Marion Co. He later moved to Harrison, Hamilton Co. Since both James Allen and the Gotcher family are in Marion Co. atthe same time, this may be the James Allen that I am researching.James Allen lived at Tyner Station, Hamilton Co. until he died in1877. If you have any information about these two families, please contactme.

JAMES DAVID DOVE

My grandfather James David DOVE moved to Chattanooga in the 1920sfrom Oram Tennessee area. I visited his grave many years ago with myauntand have forgotten the name of the cemetery. It was a shortdistance from South Pittsburg and just before the Al. line turn rightor North and on a country road. It was on the right and Higher thanthe road. An aunt had a marker place there in the 1960s. The name ofthe burial site would help me with finding his death date.
