I'm looking for any information on the parents of Martin B. HAVNER, born in Marion Co. Tennessee on Dec. 29, 1837. He was married to Caroline MCBEE who died sometime after 1865. Martin B. HAVNER Jr. was born on Nov. 19, 1863 in a house that straddled the state line (Alabama-Tennessee). There were also, I believe, another son Joseph,a brother Robert and there may have been a sister or a daughter Mollie. Martin and his family moved to Arkansas after the death of wife Caroline, and settled around Yell Co.

I am looking for any information on Robert L. "Bob"KENNEDY/KENNADY/KEADY b. 1848 TN. Name of 1st wife unknown but the mother to John KENNEDY b 1876, Lem KENNEDY b ca 1880 and Sam KENNEDY b ca 1882. Please, I need help with information needed for my book I am compiling. SOLOMON BOLTON MY MELUNGEON 2ND GREAT GRANDFATHER. He lived in Marion Co. until he moved to Hamilton Co. in 1846. While in Marion Co. he was a prosecutor against William Brumley who murdered his step-son and Solomon's grandson before July 1840 when William went to prison for 10 yrs. I am looking for information on David Lane and his wife, (name unknown). Also would like information about their parents (supposedly his father was John Lane (Sr?) and was married to Barbara DeVault. Ancestry.com has David Lane as David Lane Sr and has him born in Marion County TN. Our records show that David and his wife had a daughter by the name of Elizabeth and that she was born in Alabama in 1819. She married William Stigall (Stegall?) and ultimely moved to MO. There seems to be variations of the spelling of the last name also. It is listed as Lain, Lane, and Layne. David's parents are shown to have been married in Washington CO, VA in 1789. PETER HENRY BROWN/ NC, GA, TN P.H. BROWN was born ca 1822 either North or South Carolina. He had known brothers Madison (Matt) and Leroy. Matt worked for the city of Atlanta Ga. after the Civil War. Peter's mother remarried after his father's death, when Peter was a young boy, possibly married a man named Cook. Peter was sometimes called "Dr. Brown" as he served as a nurse and hospital steward in Confederate Army. He married Lydia JONES, sister of James Roland JONES of Walker Co. Ga. They were married in Coweta Co. Ga. 30 Nov 1841. They are in census records of Coweta Co. Ga., Cherokee Co. Ala., Walker Co. Ga. and Sequatchie Co. Tn. after their marriage. Peter left Lydia a few years after the war and disappeared. There is a strong connection to the Spearman family as the name was used for 4 generations of the family. Children were: Elizabeth E., James Madison, Gabriel Spearman, Nancy Ann, Sarah Jane (mine), Willis Warner, Russell Peter, Solomon Moor. Lydia died and is buried Marion Co.

I am trying to find when William Thomas CRAWFORD (and wife Nancy) arrived in Marion Co. I know that he was there February 11, 1863 because one of his children, Enos Christman Crawford, was born there then. William left Polk County sometimes in 1860-1863 time period for Marion Co. but not sure when. One child was born (and died) in Polk Co. sometimes in 1860. One child, Mary Elizabeth Crawford, was born March 26, 1861 but don't know where yet, either Polk Co. orMarion Co., or somewhere in between. The family was still in Marion county in 1866 because Thomas Grant Crawford was born in Marion Co.,not sure of the exact date. They were in Texas by the end of 1867. Would like to see if William was listed in the 1860 Marion County Census. If you have other resources that cover the 1860 - 1867 period that you could check for William it would be appreciated also. I am looking for information on the death of SAVANNAH JOLLY McCLENDON. She died in 1928, and there is no death certificate anywhere for her. Her grandson, who died that year, is listed on the death record index. I have checked the 1927, and 1929 records also. She passed away at the home of her son NATHANIEL BARNETT McCLENDON, AND LAURA CORVIN McCLENDON. In her obit in the Chattanooga paper, it states, arrangements by Nelson. I have checked with most of the funeral homes, in Dunlap, Whitwell, and Rhea Counties. She was one of the first deceased, to be embalmed, which was done at home. My Aunt remembers them being there. I am at a brick wall. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

I think my great grandfather, Holmes Marshall RICH, was buried in the Stateline cemetery, right next to the Macedonia Baptist Church. I was there a couple of weeks ago, but very few of the graves are marked with names. I believe the address of the cemetery is considered to be Shell Mound, TN. I am looking for info regarding my 4 great grandparents, William STEWARD and Alcie HICKS -- especially regarding their parents. We have reason to believe they were from Marion County. Some old census records show STEWARTs living near RICEs. William STEWARD and Alcie HICKS named their son Joshua Rice STEWARD. There may be an in-law connection there. MILLIGAN; SMITH I am looking for any information I can find on Mordecai Milligan b: 1859 d: January 1913. He was married to Matilda Smith b: 1857 d: July 23, 1932 in Sayre, Alabama. I am not sure where Mordecai died. They had four children, Herbert, my grandfather born in Whiteside, Tenn. on July 24, 1888. He died in Sparta, Illinois on January 1, 1958. My grandfather married Elizabeth Ann Woodford b: Oct. 15, 1886, d: July 24, 1965, Herbert and Elizabeth were married on September 10, 1908 in Sayre, Alabama. Don't know much about the older Milligan's. Have the names of all the children and dates of birth and death of Herbert's children. I am looking for information on George Washington VANDERGRIFF, particularly anything that would establish who his parents were. G.W. was born about 1811 and died August 8, 1897. I would like to identify the parents and siblings of Louis Nero Knott, b. Oct 26, 1869 in Hamblen County, TN. He m. Mary Hannah (or Ella May Hannah) on 14 Dec 1905 in Telequah, Cherokee, Oklahoma, had six children (some in Oklahoma, and others in New Mexico), moved to New Mexico in covered wagon and settled in Roswell NM where he died in 1950. He had one known brother, Albert, that settled in Carlsbad NM, but it's unknown if that is where Albert died and was buried.

I am looking for information on Thomas Love PYBURN. He had a son named William Riley PYBURN. William married Vina Ann ANDERSON and had 7 children. Vina died & William married Dadie Gilley. They had 3 children. The 1st child was Joe Benjamin PYBURN. He was born in Marion County on July 15, 1905. I believe Thomas was born in 1821 and that William was born in 1840. I have no info on Dadie other than she probably died in So Pittsburgh in 1941 and I believe that William died in 1918 in Tennessee. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
