HALE'S BAR LOCK & DAM HISTORY, 1905 - 1968
Story of the First Lock & Dam on the Tennessee River. (& Highest in the World then) Marion was a boom town. 1905-1914 to build. Took 3,000 men, 3 shifts, round the clock, Created a self-contained village. Story of the people who lived worked, and loved in the little town of Guild. (Hale's Bar) Hale's Bar was replaced by Nickajack Dam in 1968.
