Chattanooga, Tenn. Nov. 6, 1906.

I, Houston Smith realizing the uncertainty of life and knowing my time is not as long as has been and while in possession of sound mind and memory I make this my will. I want a common burial, burying me in Shelbyville, Tenn., have my funeral preached at my old church, Woodfork Chapel. I want all of my debts paid.

It is my will that my beloved wife Ellen A. Smith have what property that I owned.

I hereby give and devise to my wife, Ellen A. Smith and her airs [sic] my house on Pike St. Chattanooga, Tenn. And my lot in Shelbyville, Tenn. And I want Jim McElroy to have my shoe tools ad barber chair and should he out live both of us I grant, convey and make over to Jim McElroy my house and lot on Pike St. Chattanooga Tenn. And the lot in Shelbyville, Tenn. to have and to hold. I ratify this and know [sic] other to be my will. I hereby sign my name in the presence of these two witnesses, this the 6 day of Nov. 1906.
