Will of Calvin Riggle
[Will Book 1, pages 102-103 (transcribed by Pam Collier)]

I, Calvin Riggle, being of sound mind and disposing memory and in view of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do make and publish this my last will and testament

Item 1st. It is my will and desire that first of all my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid

Item 2. In consideration of the love and affection which I bear towards my beloved brother Daniel Riggle and towards my beloved Nephew C. C. Anderson who has lived with me all his life, it is my will and desire that in the event my said brother Daniel shall survive me, he shall take, hold, use and enjoy all my estate, both real, personal and mixed that I may die seized and possessed of during the term of his natural life; and at his death it is my will and desire that the remainder shall vest absolutely in my beloved Nephew C. C. Anderson and his heirs. In the event that I survive my brother Daniel, then and in that event it is my will and desire that at my death all my estate of whatever kind both real, personal, and mixed, shall vest absolutely in my beloved Nephew C. C. Anderson and his heirs.

All the property which I now own is jointly owned with my brother Daniel and we both reside on the real estate which is situated in the 13th Civil district of Marion County, Tennessee, and we are equal partners in all our business. The real estate which I now own, and which I desire shall at my death if my said brother survive me, descend to him for life, remainder to my said Nephew C. C. Anderson and his heirs in fee, or in the event that I survive my said brother, then at my death to vest absolutely in my said nephew C. C. Anderson and his heirs, is jointly vested in my bother Daniel Riggle and myself and known as parts of the Hoge and Stubblefield lands, the deeds to which are all of record in the Register’s office of Marion County, and for a fuller description of the real estate I refer to the deeds of record.

Item 3. It is my will and desire that David R Rankin shall act as my executor of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I subscribe my name hereunto on this the 9th day of August 1894.
