I William Manthey of South Pittsburg Marion County Tennessee being Sound Mind thus declare My Last will and Testament-

it being now and hereby declare by me that on Signing My Insuance[sic] policies the one Expensson[sic] one half to my wife Elizabeth Manthey and one half to my son Charles A Manthy[sic] was intended only to establish the fact that the said C A Manthey is my legal heir in case the said Elizabeth Manthey should decease before myself; I do now revoking and annulling all former disposition of said Life Insurance give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Manthy for her own use benefit and controll
absolutely and forever:

Firstly, all the proceeds of my several Life Insurance Policies
Secondly, all my undivided one half of the twenty seven acres Farm Known as the "Ellis Farm" in Haleys Cove near the town of South Pittsburg Tennessee
Thirdly, and lastly, all my personal effects including money in hand and chattels of all and every description

on condition that she shall at all times give to one son Charles A Manthey parents care and supervision, providing him with food clothes and lodging until he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years unless she shall have deceased or he shall in the opinion of my executor hereafter named be well able to provide for himself prior to that date. my interest in two lots in the city of Fort Wayne Indiana I surrender to Albert Gregg Esquire, Halbon Park, Lancaster England in satisfaction to him of a mortgage in the sum of Twelve hundred Dollars. It is my especial request and command that neither my wife Elizabeth Manthey nor my son Charles A Manthey shall attend my funeral but that my wife the said Elizabeth Manthey shall have the right to determine and arrange in which manner my body shall be interred.

I appoint my friends Charles Flisher and Josie Lodge both of South Pittsburg Tennessee as my executors to this my last Will and Testament Dated this nineteenth day of March 1883
