I am not trying to compete with other online cemetery photo sites, but here will be presented cemetery transcriptions of stones and the photos to match and as much information concerning the cemetery history and the family histories of the individuals buried there as can be obtained. Gaines Chapel Cemetery

There are very special reasons for posting this cemetery here:

(1) It is a separate cemetery located alongside Gilliam Cemetery, and due to ignorance on the part of those who included it's graves in the Marion Co., TN cemetery book, it was denied it's identity and its history.

(2) Many prominent persons were buried there, and the cemetery's history must be recorded before it is lost and forgotten.
