{"id":231,"date":"2014-01-29T15:03:22","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T21:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/macon\/?p=231"},"modified":"2014-01-18T15:03:49","modified_gmt":"2014-01-18T21:03:49","slug":"nichols-graves-d-1870","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/macon\/nichols-graves-d-1870\/","title":{"rendered":"NICHOLS, Graves (d. 1870)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Funeral Services For Graves Nichols Held Friday<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Graves Nichols<\/strong> (age 84) retired farmer passed away at his home in the Ebenezer community last Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Macon County he was the son of <strong>Drury and Liza Shrum Nichol<\/strong>s. His first wife, Mrs. Ella Hooper Nichols passed away in 1917. Later he married <strong>Mrs. Annice Gammons Nichols<\/strong>, who survives.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 PM at Alexander Funeral Home by <strong>Elder T.C. Jones<\/strong> and <strong>Elder E.C. Butler<\/strong>. Burial was in the Haysville cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors other than his wife include one son, <strong>Graves Nichols<\/strong>, Lafayette; two daughters, <strong>Mrs. V.C. McDuffee<\/strong> of Scottsville, Ky., and <strong>Mrs. Elton Brawner<\/strong>, Lafayette; one brother, <strong>Thomas Nichols<\/strong>, Ebenezer; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Macon County Times, Lafayette, Tennessee, Thursday, 28 May 1970<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Submitted by:\u00a0 Shelta R.
