He suffered a heart attack early this year, but was thought to be progressing nicely when a sudden attack of illness developed early Sunday afternoon, ending his life shortly afterward. It is supposed that heart disease was the cause of his death. His wife, <strong>Mrs. Lethia Susie Shrum Day<\/strong>, died two years ago. He is survived by three daughters, <strong>Mrs. Freeley Caruthers<\/strong>, of Allen County, Kentucky; <strong>Mrs. Adron Carr<\/strong>, of this county; and <strong>Mrs. Huel Wheeley,<\/strong> who resided with her father; eight grandchildren, four brothers, <strong>Jim Day<\/strong>, of New Harmony; <strong>Frank Day<\/strong>, of Westmoreland; and <strong>John Day<\/strong>, of Nashville; and a sister, <strong>Mrs. Alva Norman,<\/strong> also of near Lafayette.<\/p>\n<p>The remains were laid to rest at a late hour Monday in the Drury Cemetery, following funeral services conducted by Elder William Norman, assisted by Elder Calvin Gregory. The deceased was a hard working farmer and was a native of the New Harmony section. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist church, and was one of the highly respected citizens of this community.
