Zumstein, Mark Andrew
Mark Andrew “Andy” Zumstein passed away Wednesday, October 20 at his home following a tragic accident at the age of 45. Born February 28, 1976, in Clarksville, he was the son of Joseph Mark Zumstein and the late Shirley Headrick Zumstein.
Andy, known by most as “Z”, was a 1994 graduate of Lewis County High School. He graduated from EMT school at Columbia State Community College in 1995. He worked for Certified Industries, G.F. Puhl, and King Machine Works as a metal fabricator. He later worked for the City of Hohenwald as an equipment repairman. He loved helping his friend Pineapple Barber DJ and did so off and on for ten years. He loved to hunt, refinish old furniture, was an avid book reader and a loyal friend.
Z was very particular, a unique person. His friends would say he was one of a kind. He loved to collect guns, knives, and old glass bottles. All of his collectables had to be neat, perfect, and in the right spot. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Zumstein; sister, Julie Reeves; son, Caleb; nephews, Holden Reeves of San Jose, California, Cullen Reeves and Cooper Reeves of Hohenwald; and niece, Sasha Hinson of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and siblings, John Frederick Zumstein and Cheryl Ann Zumstein, who both died in infancy.
Visitation with the family will be held at Adair Funeral and Cremation Services on Sunday, October 24 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 25 at the funeral home. Jerry McDonald will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Tony Barber, Ray Runions, Kevin King, Darryl King, Mark Graves, and Kevin Creasy.
