He was born on November 20, 1953, at the Boyce Clinic in Hohenwald to the late James Whitwell Scott &amp; Elsie Marie Burns. He graduated from the Lewis County High School in 1971, after graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He served our country from 1971 &#8211; to 1975 as an aircraft armorer and weapons mechanic, he served 2 tours in Thailand and 1 tour in Alaska. He retired in 2019 from Wyley Steel in Springfield, TN just prior to having a double lung transplant that wouldn&#8217;t allow him to work anymore. He loved many things such as motorcycles, baseball, coaching his sons in baseball, music &amp; playing the guitar, and the most important thing his grandkids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/James-Scott-104\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his wife, Chivonne Scott, son, Harrison Taylor Scott &amp; wife Kelley, son, James Wesley Scott &amp; wife Alex, daughter, Lauren Ricki McMurtry &amp; husband Clay, sister, Renita Tenry &amp; husband Jerry, grandchildren, Carter &#8220;Scooter&#8221;, Faye, Graham, Bryce, Foster, Isidora, Jethro, and Ellis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/James-Scott-104\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, February 13 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel, Funeral Services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/James-Scott-104\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">There will be no burial at this time as Mr. Scott&#8217;s wishes were to be cremated, his cremains will be laid to rest at a later date in the Napier Cemetery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following charities.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Fisher House in St. Louis: <a title=\"Click to open in a new window or tab\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fisherhouseinstl.org\/make-a-donation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/www.fisherhouseinstl.org\/make-a-donation\/\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Barnes Jewish Hospital, Lung Transplant Center<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"services-events\">\n<div class=\"services-content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. James Ricky Scott, of Madison, TN, formerly of Hohenwald, passed away on Wednesday, February 9 at the age of 68.
