He was born in Tampa, Florida, on August 14, 1955, to the late J. R. Whitchard and Joy Dowden Adams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Whitchard is survived by his wife, Vicky Carr Whitchard, daughter, April Burleson, son, Andy (Brandy) Lahr, daughter, Katie (Dwight) Bivens, grandchildren, Jared Burleson and Adrianna England, and sisters, Shelah Sandefur and Linda Slywczuk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitchard was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Sandefur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Whitchard was a diesel mechanic and a veteran of the United States Navy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A memorial service will be held at a later date.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jerry Dennis Whitchard, of Centerville, died January 28, 2022, at the age of 66 years.
