She departed this life on January <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">11, 2022, at Centerville Health and Rehabilitation Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"obituary-text\">\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Ella-Woolridge\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Hugh <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cD\u2019 Woolridge, brother Raleigh Goodman and sister, Bettie Sue Dobbins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Ella-Woolridge\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She professed a hope in Christ at and early age and was a faithful member of the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Centerville Church of God, Sanctified. For over 70 years she served in multiple <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">ministries including the Mother Board, the Church Choir, Usher Board, Food and <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hospitality Committee as \u201cThe Boss\u201d. She had a special interest in supporting the youth<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">in every capacity of the church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Ella-Woolridge\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ella Mai was educated in the O.H. Bernard School System in Centerville, TN.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was employed in the manufacturing industries at Genesco Shoe Co. until its closing.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She later worked in the health care field at the Centerville Health and Rehabilitation <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Center (Centerville Life Care Center) and food services at Hickman County High School.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ella Mai had a special place in her heart for the children and elderly. They were always <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">welcomed in her home where they could find a good meal and \u201clively\u201d conversation. She <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">was known for hosting the annual Third Sunday in July Reunion festivities. Ella Mai was <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">a known \u201cFashionista\u201d with her extensive hat collection. Her hobbies included cooking, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">traveling, and supporting the Tennessee Titans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Ella-Woolridge\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Ruby Woolridge Peters of Centerville, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">TN, and one foster daughter Nellie Joe Mayberry of Richmond, IN.; one grandson, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Elcassius Jones (Roneka) of Louisville, KY; one foster grandson, Kenneth \u201cElgin\u201d Frye <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">of Carlisle, IN; three great-grandchildren, Demichael, Realyn, and Layla Marie of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Louisville, KY; two god-granddaughters, Qiana Easley and Keisha Walker of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Centerville, TN and one god-grandson, Keenan Walker of Jackson, TN; one sister, Emma <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">(Jeffery) McClain of Hanover, MD, and one step sister, Teresa Perkins of Dickson, TN; <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">one brother, Brownie Carter of Columbia, TN and one step brother, Sam Henry Carter of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hanover, MD; three aunts, Anna Pearl Shipp of Detroit, MI, June Brown Walker and <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carolyn Johnson of Centerville, TN; one sister-in-law, Margaret(Johnny) Booker of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hohenwald, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Ella-Woolridge\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 22 Jan 2022 from 11:00 AM &#8211; 12:00 PM at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. &#8211; Hickman County,\u00a0 Funeral Services will be 22 Jan 2022 at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">12:00 PM at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Burial will follow at\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ella Mai Woolridge was born on May 21, 1932, in Hickman County, TN to the late William \u201cClyde\u201d Satterfield and Mary Louise Perkins.
