He was born September 8, 1949, in Aetna, Tennessee to the late Leslie Dee Burns and Ethel Ines (Alexander) Burns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Edgar-Burns\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Lucille (Benjamin) Gonzalez, Betty Burns, Edith Carlson, and Clyde Burns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Edgar-Burns\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">During high school he met the love of his life Judy Faye (Mobley) Burns and was married for 52 years. Mr. Burns served in the Armed Forces for 24 years; he was a Marine for 12 years, stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina; he then chose to enter into the National Guard. Mr. Burns then went into truck driving which he thoroughly enjoyed. After retiring he enjoyed yard work, helping people, and his grandchildren. He knew no strangers!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Edgar-Burns\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Burns is survived by his wife Judy (Mobley) Burns, daughter Elena (Fred) Walls, son Wesley (Earlene) Burns, daughter Crystal (Mark) Brown, grandchildren: Rachel Walls, Kayla (LD) Rosson, Seth Reed, Waylon Burns, Kelcey Brown, Matthew Brown, Josephine Brown and Luke Brown. Great granddaughter Avery Rosson. Also survived by brother Carl A. Burns and a large host of loving nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Edgar-Burns\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Graveside services will be held January 15, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens in Centerville, Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edgar Lee Burns, age 72 of Nunnelly, Tennessee, passed away January 8, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
